RIP Allan Holdsworth

We’re so sad to hear about the loss of legend Allan Holdsworth.

Holdsworth was a genius guitar player and composer. A prodigy. He was known for his great work in jazz fusion leaving his mastery of improvisation behind as his legacy.

Story has it that he originally wanted to play the saxophone, but couldn’t afford one and was stuck with the guitar. He was a self-taught guitarist, a virtuoso, an inspiration to us all. Holdsworth had a long career performing with many different groups over decades.

It’s a few days later now but I wanted to add The Guardian’s full obituary which gives a strong salute to this legend.
